Job summary
To conduct reactive maintenance and tasks across Salisbury District Hospital, in an efficient and safe manner, in accordance with legislation and agreed standards.
Main duties of the job
To undertake a range of carpentry-based maintenance tasks of Trust buildings and services to the required standards in an efficient, economic, and safe manner.
To comply with Health & Safety and other legislation, to maximise efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Working generally within core specialist skills, learning new techniques, and developing skills in associated building trades as appropriate to ensure that the most effective methods are used in the course of your work. This includes attendance of courses, e-learning modules etc.
Assemble and erect various tasks including, but not limited to, screens, partitions, doors, window frames and worktops.
In addition to core skills the post holder may be required make good plastering and stud work, conduct tiling and painting and to dismantle and replace ceilings.
Have the ability to interpret and work from work orders, drawings, and specifications.
Willingness to work overtime as required by management - sometimes at short notice.

- oCompletion of a recognised CITB craft apprenticeship in Carpentry certificate, a City & Guilds Diploma in Carpentry or other equal and approved training which will provide the required level of theoretical and practical knowledge.
- oSignificant relevant experience ideally including reactive and preventative maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or public service setting that will provide an intermediate level of knowledge and give the ability to work unassisted.
