Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated professional to fill a 6 PA role, focusing on general paediatrics and neonates (level 2). As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will collaborate closely with our Community Child Health team, ensuring seamless integration of services. We have strong partnerships with CAMHS (Oxford Health), enhancing our ability to deliver holistic care to our young patients.

Main duties of the job

Key aspects of this role include providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care within our purpose-built facilities, centrally located within the Trust. The Child Health Department at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust serves a vibrant community with approximately 45,000 children aged 0-16 years, supporting an annual delivery rate of around 2,500 births.

The post holder will be expected to take a leadership role in mental health and 1 PA of this post constitutes the 'mental health champion' role which is currently funded by NHSE. The post holder will also be expected to develop our ST1 curriculum and will take the lead on supervising ST1s, alongside other clinical supervision as needed by the department. There will be approximately 0.8 PAs of general paediatric clinics.
