Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for managing the office administration of the Vascular Unit and designated health professionals, providing an efficient and comprehensive secretarial service, ensuring the effective day to day running of the office.
The post acts as the first point of contact for all forms of communication for the Vascular Unit.
The post holder will work directly with department manager, technologists and nursing staff and maintain good working relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff at all levels within the Trust and externally.
Prioritising the needs of the post and ensuring that all patients are treated within an appropriate timescale with regards to the administration in accordance with their medical need.
Working as a team to meet the requests of both the Consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialists and the department in a timely and efficient manner.
Main duties of the job
- Audio typing clinic letters.
- Receive and produce correspondence.
- Assess and prioritise the urgency of messages for clinical staff.
- Provide support to other members of staff as appropriate.
- Use initiative, planning and organisational skills.
