Job summary

Salisbury Foundation Trust are delighted to be recruiting for a new Band 6 position in their Children's Outpatient Department .

The post holder will have significant paediatric experience to effectively lead the day to day running of the service , ensuring the delivery of high quality care to children , young people , their families and /or carers.

The post holder will be required to work Monday to Friday to cover the service which includes a variety of specialised clinics held by both internal paediatricians and visiting teams .

Working collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will provide clinical oversight to ensure a safe environment and enhance the care offered to children and young people. They will be a role model for expert clinical nursing care and lead on specific projects / managerial roles as delegated by the Paediatric Matron .

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Sister/ Charge nurse you will take a key role in leadership and management of the Children's Outpatient Department , reporting to the Paediatric Matron .

The post holder will have significant paediatric experience to effectively lead the day to day running of the service , ensuring the delivery of high quality care to children , young people , their families and /or carers.

Working collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will provide clinical oversight to ensure a safe environment and enhance the care offered to children and young people. They will be a role model for expert clinical nursing care and lead on specific projects / managerial roles as delegated by the Paediatric Matron .

They will role model identified Trust values and maintain compliance of national quality standards.

Through nurse led leadership they will ensure clinical oversight, training and supervision to support other nursing staff and health care assistants working in the department.
