Due to the retirement of the current post holder we are looking for a Head of Clinical Psychology to work with and lead a team of dynamic, committed and forward thinking Psychologists across a range of sub specialist interests.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust during an exciting time, focused on delivery Trust strategy to improve services for our People, Population and Partnerships, utilising improvement methodology to focus on key areas to improve the quality of services we provide.
The team comprises a range of practitioners with a wide range of experience and expertise. There is also a requirement to work with a range of clinical stakeholders and services and so this role is wide reaching in its objectives. The successful candidate will need to be able to evidence a background of strong and successful leadership skills and behaviours in order to meet the personal specification of this role.
Main duties of the job
Lead and manage the strategic development and delivery of high quality and specialist psychologist services at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.
To provide professional leadership for the Psychology Service at SFT using professional judgement gained from extensive professional, organisational, clinical, and managerial knowledge.
Represent SFT and the psychological professions locally, regionally and nationally as appropriate, working with other Psychology leads within BSW to develop patient centred integrated pathways of care.
Work with the Divisional Management Team and Psychology Service colleagues to formulate long term strategic plans for Psychology Services at SFT and across BSW that are aligned to Trust vision, strategic and breakthrough objectives.
Embed principles of Improving Together methodology with Psychology Services to ensure quality improvement is at the core of service delivery.
Manage a highly complex patient caseload, delivering evidence based and highly specialist psychological therapeutic interventions for people accessing the service.

- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology accredited by the HCPC (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 as accredited by the BPS).
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice, particularly applicable to clinical psychology in medical settings.
- HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
