Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join the Ultrasound team has arisen within the Radiology Department at Salisbury Foundation Trust.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Ultrasound, making best use of resources and to lead on the strategic planning of the service, formulating and adjusting plans as necessary.

The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Lead, Service/Operational lead, Service Manager for Diagnostics and other members of the Senior Management Team to monitor waiting lists (DM01) and to develop the Service.

The post holder will split their time 50% clinical and 50% managerial duties.

The post holder should be dynamic and enthusiastic with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Flexible working/job share/secondments would be considered.

Main duties of the job

- To carry out an advanced practitioner role within the Ultrasound department, carrying out a range of scans (including obstetric and general medical) and producing independent clinical reports as outlined in the Extended Practice protocol;

- Undertake all aspects of routine and specialist clinical duties including intervention as anautonomous practitioner without clinical supervision;

- To be responsible for Ultrasound governance and procurement of ultrasound equipment across the Trust;

- To manage the service within a defined budget
