Job summary
The post holder will act as the lead internal Project Manager overseeing the design development and implementation of the externally funded Salisbury District Hospital Heat Decarbonisation Scheme.
The post holder will work in conjunction with the Head of Estates Capital and wider Trust colleagues to assist in the development of the strategic direction for the Salisbury Estate, reducing Estates backlog and playing a key role in ensuring the continued improvement of the built environment, ensuring fit for purpose, safe and appropriate for Staff, patients and visitors.
The post holder will be expected to play a key role in the Estates Capital team bringing specialist expertise in sustainable technologies and expected to share knowledge and assist in the development of the Capital Projects team. The post holder will assist in the development of business cases for targeted investment funding to deliver capital works as well as bids for Salix funding associated with reducing the backlog maintenance and enabling the Trust to achieve net zero carbon targets.
Freedom to Act - the Postholder is required to work autonomously, using initiative and to be accountable for own actions. To be guided by European/National Building and Health and Safety Regulations and Policy. The lead specialist in managing large Capital Estate projects
Main duties of the job
Work together with Directorate managers, Estates Development, Clinicians, Nursing and Procurement for service planning. Ensure continuity and integration of all aspects of Capital projects is achieved and other multi-disciplinary healthcare staff. Ensure that patient, staff and public user groups are aware of Capital projects in order to deliver high quality, effective and efficient patient care, demonstrating best practice and value for money.
Management of Capital works, including all documentation from initial brief to completion ensuring compliance with relevant statutory and non-statutory standards, Health and Safety Guidance, Building Regulations, Codes of Practice, NHS guidance documents, British and European Standards and Planning Authority Guidance.
Carry out Capital project feasibility of sustainability focused schemes in a multi-discipline environment from initial brief to completion with the preparation of necessary documentation for all stages of the capital process. To include; project brief, scheme estimates and costs, CAD drawings, specifications and schedules of work, outline and detailed design, planning and building regulation applications, tender documentation, contracts, construction, on-site supervision, commissioning, acceptance of works and post project evaluation.
