Job summary
As part of the multi-disciplinary acute inpatient team, you'll treat patients with a range of clinical conditions and will deliver personalised assessment & treatment programmes. It is essential that you enjoy working as part of a multi-professional team and can adapt to a changing priorities through your working day.
You will participate in the weekend and on-call rotas.
Main duties of the job
To provide a comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients with acute or long-term respiratory illness on medical/surgical wards and ICU. Assessment will involve specialist skills including: auscultation, palpation, CXR and ABG interpretation. Treatment will involve specialist skills e.g. manual techniques, positioning, cough assist, suction.
To assess patients admitted to the acute medical/surgical wards and plan a treatment programme with the aim of enabling the patient to achieve a safe level of mobility/function for discharge home or to an alternative rehabilitation facility.
