Are you a skilled carpenter looking for a leadership role where your work truly makes a difference? Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Senior Carpenterto join our dedicated Estates and Facilities team.
In this vital role, you won't just be fixing doors; you'll be ensuring a safe, high-quality environment for our patients and staff across the Trust. As a key member of our multi-skilled team, you will lead by example, combining hands-on technical expertise with the chance to mentor the next generation of tradespeople.
- Salary:
- Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Location: Based in the Estates and Facilities Directorate, with travel across Trust sites
- Benefits: Participation in a 24/7 on-call rota and the opportunity to lead small-scale fit-out projects
Who You Are
We are looking for a motivated professional who is as good with people as they are with a chisel. Our ideal candidate brings:
- Qualifications: An HND in Building Surveying (or equivalent experience) OR City and Guilds Level 3 in Carpentry with a completed apprenticeship.
- Experience: Significant experience in estates maintenance or as a site/self-employed carpenter.
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using PDAs for task management.
- Leadership Qualities: A "can-do" attitude, emotional intelligence, and the ability to work under pressure.

Main duties of the job
- Manage and complete planned and reactive maintenance work requests as per schedule
- Small works (fit out new kitchens, offices etc)
- Install new door sets from door blanks including all ironmongery.
- Cover absences or demands/emergencies you must be prepared to carry out other generalmaintenance duties
- Provide a technical lead for the PMO team, contractors and agency staff appointed tosupport the estates workforce
