As a School Health Nurse, you will be at the forefront of delivering the 5-19 Healthy Child Programme, providing evidence-based, skilled nursing care within both primary and secondary school settings. Your work will be central to promoting health, well-being, and positive outcomes for children and young people across our community.

We have a 30 hour/week, Term Time only post in the City North Locality

Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with parents/carers, teachers, and multiagency partners to support the holistic health needs of children and young people.
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, ensuring children and young people are protected and supported.
  • Support young people's transition phases and promote self-care, resilience, and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to data collection to improve service delivery and outcomes.
  • Deliver comprehensive health assessments with the school age population.
  • Provide tailored health advice and interventions addressing physical, emotional, and mental health needs.

We Are Looking For a dedicated and passionate Specialist Community Public Health Nurse experienced in working in schools.

  • Committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care that meets the unique needs of children, young people, and families.
  • Has strong clinical skills and the ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with young people, families, and professionals.
  • Is proactive, adaptable, and driven by achieving positive health outcomes.
  • Has experience in community or school nursing, safeguarding and child health promotion.
