Are you a highly motivated and dynamic School Health Nurse passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Join our dedicated team and play a vital role in shaping the future of our 0-19 Child and Young People service.
As a School Health Nurse, you will be at the forefront of delivering the 5-19 Healthy Child Programme, providing evidence-based, skilled nursing care within both primary and secondary school settings. Your work will be central to promoting health, well-being, and positive outcomes for children and young people across our community.
We have a 30 hour/week, Term Time only post in the City North Locality
Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with parents/carers, teachers, and multiagency partners to support the holistic health needs of children and young people.
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, ensuring children and young people are protected and supported.
- Support young people's transition phases and promote self-care, resilience, and independence.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to data collection to improve service delivery and outcomes.
- Deliver comprehensive health assessments with the school age population.
- Provide tailored health advice and interventions addressing physical, emotional, and mental health needs.
We Are Looking For a dedicated and passionate Specialist Community Public Health Nurse experienced in working in schools.
- Committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care that meets the unique needs of children, young people, and families.
- Has strong clinical skills and the ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with young people, families, and professionals.
- Is proactive, adaptable, and driven by achieving positive health outcomes.
- Has experience in community or school nursing, safeguarding and child health promotion.
