Job summary
We are recruiting for a Deputy POCT and Phlebotomy Manager to join our team where you will help lead the provision of phlebotomy and point-of-care testing (POCT) services across Oxford Health NHS FT.
This is a full time role (37.5 hours per week) based at the Warneford Hospital in Oxford as well as undertaking work at multiple sites across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Under the direction of the Clinical Lead and the Phlebotomy and POCT Manager, provide effective deputisation,line management and coordination of Phlebotomy and POCT services. This will involve supporting thedevelopment and maintenance of a quality management system which functions to uphold Trust-widegovernance for patient safety and centred care for both Phlebotomy and the 800+ POCT devices across theTrust. These services are provided Trust-wide across hospital inpatient, outpatient and community services.
This role directly involves clinical duties i.e. taking patient's blood, undertaking point of care testing, and you will be a fully competent phlebotomist. You will have the knowledge and skills required to ensure the provision of a safe and efficient service. You will be required to communicate effectively with others, including patients, colleagues and healthcare staff.
You will be responsible to lead the development and maintenance of the POCT middleware systems - AQURE and support the delivery of a POCT and Phlebotomy training and competency framework that covers theoretical and practical training to ensure robust provision and maintenance of skills to clinical services.
This role will also support the setting up and implementation of service evaluations in collaboration with industrypartners for novel technologies.
