Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist to join the Community Therapy Service (CTS). This role has been developed as part of a Quality Improvement (QI) programme to strengthen senior clinical leadership, enhance career pathways, and support excellent patient care across community services.
The Clinical Specialist role providesclinical expertise and leadership, working closely with the Locality Clinical Lead, Operational Managers, and Allied Health Professions (AHP) Clinical Leads. The post holder will play a key role in supporting complex clinical care, developing the workforce, and contributing to service development both locally and county-wide to deliver the neighbourhood vision outlined in the NHS 10 year plan.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Manage a complex clinical caseload, providing specialist assessment and intervention
- Provide clinical leadership within the locality, supporting high-quality, evidence-based practice
- Deliver clinical supervision, mentoring, training, and joint visits to support staff development
- Act as a source of expert clinical advice for colleagues and partners
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement, including audit and evaluation
- Support skill-mix development and workforce planning within the service
- Work collaboratively with Locality Clinical Leads, Clinical Specialists across the county, Operational Managers and AHP Clinical Leads
- Contribute to the county-wide development of CTS, ensuring consistency, equity, and high standards of care
