Cotswold House, Oxford is a 14-bedded female acute ward for females with a diagnosis of an eating disorder, mental illness and/or personality disorder. We are looking for a Charge Nurse who is committed to the delivery of safe, high quality care. Experience in an acute setting would be an advantage, but is not essential as we will provide you with all the training required.

Cotswold House, Oxford Ward is in the process of building on the psychological skills and training available to our nursing team - we are currently support colleagues through Pscyho-Social Intervention Training, Family Intervention, CBT and DBT training - improving and building on what we can offer and support our patients with while in hospital and with their recovery.

Main duties of the job

You will assist our dedicated members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team in implementing and evaluating individual care plans by working alongside the patient to support their recovery journey. Your duties will also include actively supporting individual clients in engaging with their local community and reducing social isolation.

Whilst practicing as a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for providing clinical and managerial supervision to a small team of colleagues and will be actively encouraged to promote further training and study in others to develop professionally, as well as monitoring performance within your team including sickness absence. You may also be required to cover the ward manager on occasions which will also help develop your leadership skills.
