Job summary
The Specialist Lead Practitioner for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is a strategic role within Children and Young People (CYP) 0-19 Public Health Service providing clinical expertise, education, training, consultations and supervision as well as quality improvements, leadership and multiagency integrated care in relation to SEND.
The Specialist Lead Practitioner will be responsible for leading, influencing, developing and delivering care within the 0-19 Public Health Service for babies, children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Main duties of the job
This is a county wide position in the 0-19 service and will be initially focussing on developing policies and pathways for the 5-19 service, working closely with practitioners, multiagency and stakeholders.
The Specialist Lead Practitioner will work closely in collaboration with all stakeholders to improve the health and life chances for babies, children and young people and families, with an emphasis on early identification and interventions of children and young people with emerging or identified SEND.
