Registered Nurse Associate - Marlborough House Adolescent Unit

The closing date is 12 February 2026

Job summary

Do you thrive in a role where every day is different?

Are you looking for a progressive opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a specialist mental health setting?

We are currently recruiting a full time Registered Nurse Associate to join our multidisciplinary inpatient team at Marlborough House, a 12-bedded General Adolescent Mental Health Unit in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity to work within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust's CAMHS services, supporting young people aged 12-18 who are experiencing acute mental health difficulties.

As part of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and supporting therapeutic interventions. You will work closely with a full Multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, person-centred care for young people and their families.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, resourceful, and caring, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). You should demonstrate a good awareness of mental health and a commitment to promoting recovery and positive outcomes for young people. Previous experience in a care setting is essential, and experience with children and young people is desirable.

If you're looking for a role where your contributions truly matter, your skills are valued, and your career can flourish in a supportive environment, we would love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of the nursing team at Marlborough House, you will be expected to demonstrate professional, approachable, and compassionate attitudes towards young people, their families and carers, visitors, and colleagues across the organisation.

You will actively support high standards of care delivery and challenge poor practice whenever necessary, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage proactively with young people and their families/carers/significant others to build positive, therapeutic relationships.
  • Monitor mental and physical health, wellbeing, and risk indicators, escalating concerns and implementing interventions as required. This includes undertaking physical health checks and obtaining specimens as directed.
  • Assist with the implementation and evaluation of care plans, ensuring outcomes are monitored and documented accurately.
  • Contribute to and interpret risk assessments consistently, supporting safe care planning.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining effective communication with ward colleagues and community CAMHS teams.
  • Participate in co-facilitation of therapeutic groups and structured activities, promoting engagement and recovery-focused care.
