With a focus on improving services for children & young people's mental health and wellbeing, we are looking for someone to join us as a full time Mental Health Nurse.
Swindon CAMHS is a multidisciplinary team; we provide evidenced based care to young people & their families in the community, working in partnership with other agencies.
You'll work with young people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties, sometimes alongside complex social situations & neurodevelopmental challenges.

You will receive training in a range of evidence-based interventions, with further development opportunities tailored to individual learning needs. We offer professional support, including regular regional meetings & safeguarding supervision.

You will be supported by an experienced team - clinical & managerial supervision is complemented by profession-specific supervision. We invest significantly in training & preceptorships, provide a comprehensive induction, & pair you with peers as you settle in.
You will need to be able to travel to access different appointments within the community.
Main duties of the job
The role will include undertaking the assessment of the young person's mental health needs, collaborative formulation and providing the treatment plan drawing on a variety of interventions that may involve multi-agency networking where necessary.
The main duties of the job are:
- Comprehensive assessment of children and young people presenting to the service.
- Shared formulation and care planning
- Multi agency working
- Delivery and/or oversight of collaborative treatment plan using evidence-based interventions
- Collaborative risk management
- Support and supervision of colleagues
- Being part of the on-call rota covering out of hours contact from professionals.
You will participate in a flexible working pattern within the multi-disciplinary team to provide cover for a core working day 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and 10am-6pm Saturday -Sunday and Bank Holidays. The role includes covering the on call rota outside of these hours on a rota basis. We have a robust system of support available for out of hours and on call working through Team Manager and Psychiatry On Call colleagues.
