Deputy Clinical Team Manager

The closing date is 15 February 2026

Job summary

Are you a hard-working, experienced clinician, looking for a new challenge?

Do you want to develop your leadership skills?

We are looking to recruit multiple Deputy Clinical Team Managers for the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST).

We are undergoing CAMHS transformation work, combining Getting Help and MHST to form a comprehensive CAMHS early intervention service in Oxfordshire.

We have Deputy Clinical Team Manager positions available to cover:

  • North Deputy (FT)
  • County wide Deputy (FT)
  • Vale of White Horse Deputy (PT)

You could be an RMN, Social Worker, OT, Clinical Psychologist, Family Therapist or Psychotherapist; you would be supporting the Clinical Team Manager by undertaking clinical and operational duties to ensure that we continue to deliver a high quality service.

In 2017 the Government proposal for transforming children and young people's mental health aimed to expand access to mental health care for children & young people - setting up the new Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) to be based in schools & colleges.

The MHSTs are managed through the CAMHS service to provide 'getting help' as identified within the iThrive model of CAMHS. Developing MHSTs are a key part of the Oxford Health's Long-Term Plan for Children & Young People.

If you're a hardworking team player and a keen problem solver, this is the role for you. We're looking for someone who has a keen interest in service development, to build on and improve the outcomes for our children and young people.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the MHST Operational Manager in the delivery of assessment and intervention for the MHST caseload.
  • To work alongside the Operational Manager in the management and further development of the CAMHS MHST working to an agreed model, developing clinical structures, recruiting staff and implementing the service.
  • To deputize for the Operational Manager when required.
  • Provide a safe, effective and therapeutic clinical team ensuring the delivery of establishing current presentation and to give advice for young people and families waiting for assessment / intervention.
  • In conjunction with other team leaders and managers to contribute to the development of community mental health service provision across the wider service.
  • In conjunction with the Operational Team Manager the post holder is expected to contribute in the development and implementation of a robust performance management system for the team.
  • To be responsible for the line management, case supervision and appraisal of team colleagues.
  • To take a key role in ensuring effective joint working with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure responsive and appropriate service delivery to users and carers.
