Are you a Trainee PWP seeking the next step in your career?

This part time role within CAMHS aims to develop the Low Intensity CBT offer within the Getting Help part of our services. It represents an opportunity for clinicians who have knowledge and experience in using evidence-based low intensity interventions to develop their careers, and support the development of this new, exciting service for young people and their families.

You will support in working with community CAMHS and in close partnership with agencies from across education, health and social care to identify and provide the right service response to a child and/or young person's mental health and wellbeing needs. This will involve meetings with Wiltshire Council Children's Services and other multi-agency partners to share and discuss requests for service which do not require a specialist mental health response, to agree a service which addresses the needs identified. You will deliver high quality, evidenced based comprehensive mental health interventions.

You will provide guided self-help, low intensity, brief, evidence-based CBT to CYP and to deliver groups where appropriate. You will work with senior colleagues to screen and triage referrals who may be appropriate for the CWP pathway. The role will also involve highlighting areas of need within the teams and helping to develop the service and create quality improvement plans supported by, and in conjunction with, senior colleagues.

Main duties of the job

  • Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
  • Assess and support young people with a common mental health problem and their families in the self-management of their recovery.
  • Undertake patient-centred interviews which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and/or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others using agreed procedures/risk assessment tools.
  • In consultation with the clinical supervisor, participate in decision-making on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the service's referral protocols.
  • Prepare and present clinical information for all patients on their caseload on an agreed and scheduled basis, in order to ensure safe practice and the clinical governance obligations of the worker, supervisor and service are delivered.
  • Engage in and respond to clinical supervision.
