You'll work closely with the District Nurse Locality Leads, offering strategic leadership and hands-on support to create a seamless, patient-focused service.

Main duties of the job

As a District Nursing Lead (Advanced District Nurse Specialist), you will provide expert clinical leadership and proactive management of District Nursing teams, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care for patients with complex needs. You'll lead the implementation of the national anticipatory care model, champion preventative and personalised care, and work collaboratively with GPs, multi-professional teams, and locality leads to reduce hospital admissions. Your role includes advanced clinical assessment, prescribing, and developing care pathways, alongside supervising and supporting staff to deliver safe, effective care. To succeed, you'll need strong clinical leadership skills, advanced assessment and decision-making abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure are essential, as is experience in change management, education, and integrated working. You'll be a role model for professional standards, fostering a culture of learning and quality across the service.
