Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to work within our pre-discharge unit at Littlemore Mental Health Centre in Oxford.

This role is based at Lambourn House, a 15-bedded low secure forensic unit for males and females. The focus of input is rehabilitation, aiming to support patients in successfully transitioning on from hospital. We are an innovative service, developing and strengthening our provision to include a wide spectrum of interventions including sensory assessments, vocational opportunities, links with the Recovery College, and more.

You'll manage a defined caseload and provide Occupational Therapy that is evidence based and follows client centred principles. This will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the outcome of interventions and documenting all stages of the process.

This role includes an RSU Allowance of £1,446 per annum on top of your salary.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide Occupational Therapy that is evidence based and follows client centred principles. This will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the outcome of intervention. Interventions may be carried out in hospital, community settings or during home visits.
  • Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team establishing effective relationships with colleagues so as to benefit the treatment of clients in each setting. This will include contributing to decision making with regard to client care programmes
  • Communicate clearly the results of assessment, intervention and evaluation to referrers and othersinvolved with clients
  • Liaise regularly with Occupational Therapists and clinical teams to develop/provide integrated services.
  • Develop skills and knowledge through participation in the Preceptorship Programme and other post-graduate opportunities
