The Wiltshire Community Eating Disorder Service (WCEDS) is looking fora Band 7 Clinical Specialist Nursewhoispassionate about making a difference to adults who are suffering with an eating disorder.
You will be part of a team of dedicated and experienced multi-disciplinary professionals working with adults with eating disorders.
With a reputation for excellence, our service provides a stepped model of care tailored to the individual's need for stabilisation and recovery. We offer a range of programmes and evidence-based treatments toassistwith this. Within this post, you will provide specialist eating disorder assessment and treatment for adults with eating disorders, in a community setting across Wiltshire and Swindon.
We are working towards a culture where services from across thewhole systemwork together to deliver positive and seamless experiences of care for adults with an eating disorder.
You will require a professional qualification with current UK registration. The serviceoperates 5 days per week Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
Main duties of the job
- To provide Specialist Assessments for Adults with Eating Disorders (AED).
- Develop a working network to support staff in consultation and joint working with other agencies, institutions and professionals to provide effective interventions for AED.
- To support the development of an effective interface between mental health services and across providers and all partnership agencies both statutory and non statutory.
- Develop effective care pathways for Adults with Eating Disorders.
- Provide training, consultation, and supervision to, Healthcare Workers and other professionals in community and hospital settings.
- Offer and access supervision and support to ensure good practice within the team.
The role is to provide comprehensive care to individuals with eating disorders, as well as taking a leadership role within the multi-disciplinary team to embed nursing as a key element of the treatment pathway. The post holder will receive, and be required to offer, supervision to other team members and act as Practice Assessor / Supervisor to nursing students and trainees.
We offer a range of evidence-based treatments for eating disorders and deliver these within the community. This post holder would act as a lead for the FREED (First Episode Rapid Early Intervention) pathway within the service, providing leadership for the FREED mini team. There are opportunities and expectations that you will be involved in other evidence-based treatments also.
