Are you looking for a new role in Psychology? Or looking to a step up from being newly qualified?
We're looking for a part-time Psychologist to join us in Buckinghamshire CAMHS working 30 hours per week. This is a new post in a new development working from a mental health/neurodevelopmental perspective with children and young people with complex needs.
You will work alongside clinical colleagues in a small team in Buckinghamshire as part of a wider associated development for the whole Thames Valley area. The development will be led by Oxford Health NHS FT following award of national 'Vanguard' status and associated funding from NHS England within the context of its long-term plan for children and young people.
The Thames Valley-wide programme for children and young people with complex needs is centred around the implementation of a practice framework known as the 'Framework for Integrated Care' (FIC, outline attached). It is designed to improve outcomes for a cohort of vulnerable children and young people with complex needs who experience some of the highest levels of health inequality in society. Their needs are defined as 'complex', as they often are.
The framework focuses on trauma-informed practice, cross-agency working and achievement of consensus across professionals and family by clinical formulation and support for professionals and others who are directly involved with young people.
Main duties of the job
Clinicians working within the new development will be involved in direct clinical work, interprofessional liaison and training. In Buckinghamshire, clinicians will be co-located with a range of other services already working along the lines of the FIC frequently with young people with complex needs. These services already have strong links with other teams across CAMHS, within children's social care, youth justice, education and the voluntary and community sector.
The successful applicant will be expected to support in every aspect of the service to ensure high quality service delivery to children, families and professionals. This will include contributing to, and writing up, multi-agency consultation and specialist assessments, supporting the Clinical Lead in service development and ongoing research, and will lead in the collation of outcome data for research and service evaluation.
A significant part of the role will be to support the service in collection of routine data and create reports and assist in the development of service evaluation within the service with service users and stakeholder professionals as part of this evaluation. Other aspects will include to support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, across all sectors of care; providing psychological assessment and brief psychological interventions.
