Wound Specialist Nurse - Podiatry

Are you a Nurse who is passionate about wound care?

Would you like to provide wound care for chronic and surgical wounds for podiatry patients?

We are looking for Nurses to work alongside our Podiatry colleagues to provide reflective assessment, diagnosis and treatment for conditions of the foot, ankle and related structures to improve mobility, reduce pain and maintain tissue viability.

This is a new role, so an exciting time to join and add real value to the service and patient care by developing nurse led clinics within the podiatry service and create a multi-disciplinary approach to podiatry.

We currently have opportunities available in Abingdon, Banbury, Oxford and Witney please state the location you would be most interested in on your supporting statement.

Main duties of the job

  • To assess, diagnose and manage the on-going primary care of patients eligible for NHS podiatry in Oxfordshire, including but not limited to:
  • Those with 'at risk' foot health status (deficiencies in circulatory and/or neurological supply and reduced tissue viability)
  • Wound care under direction/supervision of a Podiatrist.
  • To manage an identified a caseload of patients and undertake all associated communication and liaison with other health care professionals, including referral onwards for further care under indirect supervision of a podiatrist.
  • Work within a podiatry team and develop professional links across care pathways.
