Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an individual with strong leadership qualities to lead the Abingdon Same Day Emergency Care team (AEMU) on a day-to-day basis supporting them with the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
The unit comprises of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) who provide timely comprehensive and integrated assessments and interventions for adult patients with sub-acute urgent healthcare needs as an alternative to secondary care admission where appropriate.
We are looking for a positive, motivated, committed clinician who will lead, support and develop the team and contribute to further service developments.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will take responsibility for the quality and effectiveness of care delivered by the multidisciplinary team and other agreed areas of the service.
- To act as a visible clinical leader by actively participating in and coordinating patient focused care.
- To contribute strategically to the development of the multidisciplinary team and its services.
- To be responsible for the day to day operational management of the Unit.
- To support other senior Clinical leaders in the management of patients and staff within the directorate as required.

- Registered Adult/ Physical Health Nurse or Allied Health Professional
- First level degree (HEI level 6) in NMC of HCPC registered profession
- Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment or Advanced History Taking module or equivalent similar relevant study (HEI level 7)
- Practice Assessor/Supervisor or Mentor training/ study day
Desirable
- Independent non-medical prescribing
- PGCert Teaching qualification (in addition to practice assessor/ supervisor) (HEI level 6 or 7
