With new funding from our commissioners, we're enhancing how we support families. Rather than sending signposting letters, we'll now call every family to offer personalised advice and connect them with the right help. Join our expanding BANES and Wiltshire CAMHS SPA Team in Melksham and make a real difference from the very first conversation. You will be joining an established and supportive multi-disciplinary team offering an extended period of induction which includes shadowing opportunities and the flexibility of hybrid working.

You will receive regular managerial, clinical, peer and safeguarding supervision and the opportunity to avail of the many training opportunities on offer through Oxford Health Foundation Trust.

We are based in Melksham and work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join the SPA team who are responsible for all referrals and enquiries for children and young people (CYP) across Banes AND Wiltshire CAMHS teams. The SPA team is instrumental in gathering more information and co-ordinating the appropriate care at the right time by the right service/pathway.

  • Supporting the Clinical Team Manager and SPA Practitioners to manage all requests for service, to ensure children, young people and families receive timely access to the right help they need according to their mental health and wellbeing needs.

  • To undertake phone consultations to children, young people, families and other referrers.

  • Work collaboratively with parents/families/carers to promote the emotional and physical wellbeing of the child/young person.

  • Assessing risk in collaboration with children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties, significant others, and other workers/professionals, alongside use of own professional judgment and team processes.

  • Identifying and engaging with practitioners with specialist knowledge to support decision making.

  • Confidently signpost to other appropriate resources within the community.
