We are recruiting for a part-timeSenior Clinical Psychologistto join our Community CAMHS teams in Melksham and BANES.
You'll be providing a highly specialist service that is culturally appropriate and based on best clinical and professional practice to help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder to improve the mental health and well-being of users of the learning disability service.
The role will involve psychological assessment and intervention for children with complex presentations within the teams clinical spaces and community visits. You'll also be supervising and supporting the psychological assessment and therapy provided by the LD teams and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.

Main duties of the job
- Provide psychological assessment and intervention for children with moderate to severe and/or complex presentations
- Implement a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses
- Supervise and support psychological assessment, formulation and therapy provided by LD clinicians and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
- Provide ad hoc advice and guidance to colleagues within social care and GPs in planning and implementing care plans for patients with psychological care needs.
- The post involves independent travel between Trust sites and community visits, and there may be potential risk of exposure to aggressive or unpredictable behaviour from clients and carers or family members in distress. The post- holder should be guided by the local team's lone worker policy and Trust risk policy and their supervisor when undertaking visits.
