Job summary
We are recruiting for a full-time Transport & Logistics Manager to lead the strategic and operational delivery of our transport services at Oxford Health NHS.
This is a pivotal role within the Estates & Facilities team, responsible for ensuring the management of all transport including car parking, NEPT and secure transport contracts, efficient movement and storage of medical equipment, consumables, and emergency preparedness assets across the Trust.
Proven experience in team leadership and supporting the sustainability manager in delivering the Trust's Green Plan is essential. The role requires flexibility to travel across Trust sites along with prior management experience in public sector, commercial or facilities environments. Strong communication skills are vital for engaging effectively on all transported related matters both internally and externally.
Main duties of the job
- Lead logistics operations at the Warehouse Distribution Centre.
- Manage Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT), taxi and courier services, inter-site staff transport, and car parking.
- Oversee a small in-house team and third-party suppliers to deliver cost-effective services.
- Develop and implement car parking strategies and CPMS systems.
- Ensure effective internal and external communications across departments and stakeholders.
- Budget management of all Transport contracts and staffing
- Cross-departmental and organisational collaboration

- Degree in Facilities Management, or other estates related subject, or equivalent qualification or experience.
- NVQ Level 6 qualification in management field, or equivalent experience or knowledge gained within Transport and Logistics environment.
- Member of IWFM or equivalent
- IOSH H&S Certificate.
Desirable
- Master's degree in a relevant subject
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of transport and logistics management and how it may be applied compliance to minimise the Trust's carbon footprint
- A high-level understanding of compliance issues, current legislation and mandatory requirements relating to transport and logistic responsibilities.
- Knowledge of estates and facilities services.

- Previous experience of developing and successfully implementing patient and commercial services and systems, whilst also being a lead in Governance, Business management and performance for the service
