The Oxford At Risk Mental state Team (Open ARMS) is a friendly and supportive new team under development. The ARMS service will provide help to reduce the duration of untreated severe mental illness, including psychosis. This will be achieved by offering a number of interventions in line with NICE Guidance.

We are a new team under development, we are looking for enthusiastic motivated professionals who want to support in the development of a new service.

The team is dedicated to providing excellent care and service through evidence-based interventions, research and quality improvement work. We will work closely with families and carers as well as other services.

You will be offered specialised training to enable you to increase your knowledge base and to advance your practice. This role can be challenging at times, due to the sensitive needs and difficult points in the lives of our patients, but you will be rewarded with outcomes that change lives and you will have the support of a highly motivated and passionate team around you.

Applicants will need the ability to travel across Oxfordshire to see patients at their homes.

Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to plan and implement intervention specific to the needs of patients and their carers. This includes attending weekly MDT meetings.

You will be holding a caseload in the community which entails completing highly complex assessments, including the assessment of risk, identifying needs and develop care plans jointly with patients and carers underpinned by evidence-based practice. You will need to have a good understanding of monitoring risk in the community and to have an understanding and experience of working with patients in the community.

Our team will be developing new ways of working to support both staff and the individuals we will support with a focuses on achieving high levels of care for our patients. We will ensure that regular supervision is provided in all areas, including psychological therapies. Furthermore you caseloads will be tailored due to the specialist interventions we provide.
