Occupational Therapist - Forensic Community Learning Disability Team

Job summary

We are recruiting for a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our Forensic Community Learning Disability Team based at our Oxford Clinic in Littlemore.

The role will involve the opportunity to provide OT specific assessment and interventions, identifying the occupational needs and adaptations required to support patients to live as independently and safely as possible in the community.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the role will primarily focus on supporting clients in the community, with opportunities to in-reach to forensic inpatient setting to support transition to the community. In addition to being part of the Forensic Community LD Team, the postholder will also participate in service wide occupational therapy initiatives and professional supervision.

Main duties of the job

Clinical duties will include the provision of occupational therapy assessment and intervention pathways, using evidence based and standardised assessments. Interventions will involve multi-agency working to safely support social inclusion and vocational pathways.

There will be opportunities to develop the occupational therapy role as well as contributing to the development of this new team. Once established, the postholder will provide occupational therapy student placements and contribute to the learning of other students in the team.
