Are you seeking a nursing role in a crucial mental health service?

A nurse position has arisen at our thriving specialist adult eating disorder inpatient service in Marlborough, Wiltshire on a fulltime or part time basis. Our team is committed to delivering safe and innovative care. We have a reputation for excellence, providing a stepped model of treatment tailored to individual patient needs working within the recovery framework.

You may be an experienced or newly qualified nurse or in your 3rd year of university who would relish the opportunity to be part of specialist service where you will be supported to develop your knowledge and skills in the field of eating disorders.

The role importantly involves shift work which provides cover 24 hours, 7 days a week. This includes nights and weekends. It is a varied role that can be rich and rewarding, and you will be valued and supported by the team around you.

You will have the opportunity to undertake training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-ED) as well as co-facilitating groups that you have an interest in, such as DBT or creative art. There will be regular support groups and teaching sessions on a wide range of topics to enhance your knowledge and experience.

Main duties of the job

  • Engage proactively with patients and their families/carers/significant others to build positive working alliances.
  • Work alongside patients and their families/carers/significant others.
  • Make a systematic and comprehensive assessment/ re-assessment of patient need within the CPA framework to take account of all aspects of the patient's life,
