Children's Therapies Administrator

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the Children's Integrated Therapy Service for an experienced Team Administrator to join our friendly team. You will provide support to the Children's HEF Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy teams.

The role is full time and will be based at Abingdon Hospital, Abingdon, although there may be some opportunities for home working. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

This is a busy department and the role will involve a variety of tasks including supporting the Dietitians with ordering supplies and processing GP prescriptions. You will also be adding referrals using the electronic patient record, dealing with telephone and email enquiries and booking appointments. You should therefore have good written and verbal communication skills and accurate keyboard skills. You should have good IT skills and be confident using Microsoft Office packages. You should have excellent organisational skills and be able to prioritise your workload. In addition, the ability to work with limited supervision will be necessary.

You will be working with other members of the Children's Therapy Admin team, clinical staff and parents and families, responding to any enquiries in a professional manner and always providing an excellent level of customer service.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the team, including managing emails, records, and office systems.

  • Process GP prescriptions, referrals, and appointment bookings for the Dietitians.

  • Maintain accurate data, carry out quality checks, and update online systems.

  • Order and monitor supplies, ensuring resources are available when needed.

  • Liaise with colleagues and external professionals, and travel to local sites as required
