An opportunity has arisen to join the Pulmonary Rehabilitation team, within the wider Community Respiratory Team as a Band 3 Team Therapy Assistant. The post holder will work alongside specialist Physiotherapists to deliver a high-quality service to individuals within a variety of community settings predominantly in gyms. The post is in a county wide service, and the post holder will be required to work across the whole of Oxfordshire.

This is a position where we will consider both full time and part time hours, and the service runs from 8.30-16.30 Monday to Friday. Please do make contact with us to find out more about this job.

Main duties of the job

If you have previous experience providing care or working with people in individual and group settings and have a passion for person centred care, this post may well be for you! We are a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking team who work effectively together to deliver high standards of rehabilitation. An active program of in-service and competency based training is established, with a strong team ethos of learning and development.

Your role will be supporting clinicians to deliver Pulmonary rehabilitation programmes for patients who have chronic breathlessness due to lung disease. You will be expected to help deliver exercise support and advice, as well as supporting the administration of courses to the patients.

  • To support qualified clinicians to prepare and run rehabilitation groups for patients with long-term breathing problems.
  • To provide planned advice, teaching and instruction to patients and where relevant their carers and other professionals.
  • To work within treatment or care programmes with the patient.
