You will be joining the Children's Integrated Therapy (CIT) team at an exciting juncture as we implement a new service structure and therapy model. Our vacancy is in the North East of the county (Bicester and Kidlington) and in Oxford city itself. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated therapist to join our team.
The role is advertised as a varied full-time position however we welcome applications for a minimum of 30 hours or more. There are sessions available working withprimary and secondary aged children in both mainstream andspecial schools as well as a resource base for children with autism. Main duties of the job
Working alongside experienced colleagues you would support band 5 and band 4 colleagues. You would support children on our core clinical pathways (Speech Sound Disorders, Language Difficulties, Social Communication) with the opportunity to do some work with our fluency specialist on the Stammering pathway.
The SLT team is made up of Band 5 and 6 Therapists, Technical Assistants, Apprentices, and both Specialist Team Leads and Specialist Clinical Leads (Band 7). We provide Speech and Language Therapy for children and young people aged 0 - 19 years across Oxfordshire in a range of settings. The Service delivery model is based on six Clinical Pathways and underpinned by the current evidence base.
You will have opportunities to work alongside other members of the CIT team - Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and CIT Assistant Practitioners, as well as collaborating with the wider MDT in Education, Health and Social Services. We also have close links with SLTs at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, where specialist services such as the Regional Cleft Palate and Cochlear Implant service are based.
You will have your own caseload to manage and prioritise, delivering timely assessment and intervention packages, contributing to the SEND process, engaging in clinical meetings and delivering training to staff and parents.
