We're looking for an enthusiasticRegistered Mental Health Nurse, Social WorkerorOccupational Therapist to jointhe CAMHS Getting Help Team in North Oxfordshire, embedded within the Oxfordshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), are looking for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join us, based in Banbury.

We work closely alongside and liaise with the Getting More Help Teams on supporting children, young people (CYP) and their families experiencing complex mental health needs.

Our CYP might be at risk of inpatient hospital admission or transitioning out of inpatient care; our role is to provide intensive, short-term support within the community. No two days are the same, with plenty of variety in this role and lots of opportunities for learning.

This role carries an incentive premium of £3,500 which will be paid in instalments over an 18th month period. Please note that this scheme is not open to existing employees of Oxford Health and is subject to a claw back clause. Further information will be provided.

Main duties of the job

In Getting Help CAMHS, we're committed to deliver a high quality, targetted mental health service for children, young people and their families who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs.

You might support CYP and their families with psycho-social interventions, drawing upon evidence-base including using skills from CBT, DBT and systemic therapy.

Liaison, advice and consultation with wider CAMHS, colleagues in Children Services and a range of external agencies such as Children's Social Care, Education and many more.

In this role, you would be responsible for initial assessments and delivery of time limited, short term interventions to address emotional and mental health needs of young people, with the aim of reducing longer term mental health problems.

  • RMN/Social Worker/OT/other relevant professional qualification
  • Registered to practice in the UK

Desirable

  • Knowledge of DBT and CBT
  • Non-medical prescriber qualification.

Experience

  • Significant post qualifying mental health experience
  • Caseload management/complex conditions & cases
  • Experience of care coordination/lead professional
  • Evidence based, reflective practice & clinical reasoning skills in assessment & treatment

Desirable

  • Experience of working with children and/or young people with mental health difficulties
  • Experience of being a Care co-ordinator or managing a case load.
