Main duties of the job

As a Psychological Profession, CAPs provide greater access to psychologically informed health services. Qualified CAPs practice with appropriate support, working within the scope of their practice, under the supervision of a registered Clinical Psychologist. They provide high quality, evidence based psychological interventions to inform practice, with formulations derived from specialist psychological measurement and assessment tools. CAPs also contribute to training, research and evaluation activities, depending on their level of experience and competence.

During their training (post-graduate degree apprenticeship), CAPs develop expertise with specific populations, therefore provide a more prescribed range of activities than Clinical Psychologists. In these advertised posts, clinical experience and training will be focused on working as a CAP within CAMHS.

Apprentices will enrol on the University of Bath MSc CAP programme. When required, you will be expected to attend teaching in person. Clinical bases are within the Melksham or Marlborough CAMHS community teams.

Please read the "candidate guide to making an application" which is attached to all roles. Please include details around qualifications and ensure that the supporting statement is tailored to the role you are applying for and addresses the essential criteria found in the JD.
