The Children's Physiotherapy Service seeks to provide a high-quality service to children and their families in their home, clinics, nurseries and schools.
You will need to demonstrate flexibility and initiative, to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will need to be able to manage your time effectively and will be required to support other clinicians and manage a designated caseload.
You need to be able to demonstrate an understanding of working in a community setting, the complexities of working within a family and a multidisciplinary multiagency environment, be familiar with children's equipment and their use and be skilled in the delivery of a number of assessment tools and interventions used by Physiotherapists in Children's Community Services.
Own car or access to alternative travel for business use is essential.
This is a 12 month fixed term post to cover maternity leave however part time and job share requests are welcome. This is role is likely to be based in South Oxfordshire as part of a county wide service and consideration will be made of preferred locality, discussion on successful application
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist and highly skilled physiotherapy assessments and intervention for children and young people with a range of needs including complex disability, with responsibility for their own caseload as an autonomous practitioner. This includes therapy in community settings; homes, clinics and schools, often working alone.
They will work with the clinical team leaders to ensure an efficient, high quality therapy service is delivered which is evidence-based and centred around the needs of the child/young person.
They will provide line management and clinical leadership for qualified and non-qualified staff working at lower grades.
They will work jointly with other members of the multi-disciplinary team including Education, Social and Health Care, and will support the EHCP process and delivery of recommended provision.
