We're looking for a Receptionist to become a valued part of our Adult Mental Health Team in Amersham. This is a full-time, front-of-house role where your presence will genuinely make a difference each day.

Main duties of the job

  • Deal with all enquiries in a professional and empathetic manner. These may be via telephone, face to face or written contact.
  • As the first point of contact you will need to consider a wide range of information to ensure each patient's needs are progressed or referred on. This includes initial handling of complaints.
  • Use advanced communication skills when dealing with patients who may have special needs or exhibit challenging behaviour.
  • Use a networked computerised system to manage multiple diaries and input patient information
  • Obtain personal details and other sensitive social and medical information, often of a complex nature. Handle all information in accordance with relevant legislation and with high regard for confidentiality.
  • Provide information and advice about Adult Mental Health services and access to NHS emergency Mental Health, including out of hours services.
  • Receive and transmit information electronically using the Oxfordshire networked e-mail system, and provide general clerical support, including letter writing and correspondence when necessary.

The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.
