A vacancy has arisen for a Staff Nurse who is looking for a new, rewarding challenge in acute mental health!
As a Staff Nurse you will work as part of our Multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care to our patients and support our trust on it's Journey to Outstanding Care.
As a Mental Health Nurse, you'll be responsible for the co-ordination and management of the ward for a span of duty, as well as being responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients and carers. In addition, you'll develop effective risk management plans, and timely review of the risk management plan identifying opportunities for positive risk taking in conjunction with the client, carers/significant others and the ward team.
We have a culture of continuous professional development and as a Staff Nurse we expect you to embrace change and engage in Quality Initiatives on the Ward to improve the service we provide. We have an excellent relationship with local universities and post-graduate training providers. In addition to this you will have access to both local and trust training to support your continuing professional development.
You will work within a needs-led model of care and will work in co-production with patients.
We are open to accepting applications from newly qualified nursing staff.
Main duties of the job
Allen Ward is an 18 bedded female acute ward. We provide care and treatment for up to 18 patients, experiencing a variety of mental health problems.
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- To be responsible for the co-ordination and management of the ward for a span of duty
- To assist in every aspect of the management of an acute inpatient unit
- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to patients and carers
- To provide high quality of holistic nursing care to patients and carers
- To contribute to the development of acute inpatient service
It is mandatory for you to complete Management of Violence Aggression Training, Breakaway Training and other training directly related to the job.
You will work a rotating shift pattern Early, Late and Nights to cover our 24 hour 7 day a week service. All candidates must be computer literate.
