The BSW CAMHS In Reach Team is a multi-disciplinary team comprising of Clinical Psychologists, Family Therapists, Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Occupational therapists and Nurses in Lead Clinical Specialist and Clinical Specialist roles. The BSW In Reach Team promote more joined up thinking, and provide a more coordinated and effective approach to integrated working with the Local Authority Children's Services alongside a coordinated experience of care and support to children, young people and families (CYPF) who have multiple and complex needs.
The service predominantly operates within a consultation framework (AMBIT informed approach); offering a specialist mental health, multi-disciplinary perspective to vulnerable CYPF, presenting with complex psychological and systemic issues. This formulation-based approach facilitates a space for shared understanding and thinking together of how best to support children, young people and their family and carers.The service also offers direct evidence-based intervention through assessment and individual and group treatment to CYPF where this clinical need can be best met within the skill set and service provisions of the In Reach team. The team also provide training, external supervision, and reflective practice to multi-agency partners and CAMHS.
Main duties of the job
This role offers an opportunity to work with a group of children and young people who have experienced sexual harm, and the networks that support them. This is primarily a consultation based role, however where appropriate there is scope for direct work.You will use your clinical expertise in the area of sexual harm to provide consultation, supervision and training to professionals working with this group of young people. The post holder will also be delivering workshop/groups for parents/carers of children who have experienced sexual harm.We would welcome applications from candidates with a core profession and additional training in a NICE informed evidence base for sexual trauma ( E.g. EDMR/ trauma focussed CBT training/NET/psychotherapy).The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues from statutory and voluntary agencies to develop excellent working relationships to ensure the needs of these children and young people are met in the most appropriate way.
