Job summary

Are you looking for an exciting role working with patients experiencing mental health challenges?We are looking for Health Care Assistants to join our team on the Sapphire Ward. You should be someone who is highly motivated, thoughtful with excellent communication skills, enthusiastic about delivering high standards of care within a compassionate environment and can demonstrate a commitment to creative engagement with a diverse population of service users whilst working in a multi-disciplinary team.

Sapphire Ward provides a care environment for 20 male patients who require support in an acute phase of illness. Sapphire ward aims to provide the highest standard of care in a safe, caring and excellent way, ensuring that care provision is collaborative, holistic and individualised.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver high-quality, respectful, and professional care, promoting patient dignity and privacy.
  • Assist with daily living tasks (e.g., washing, dressing, meals) and ensure patients' dietary needs are met.
  • Observe and report changes in patient conditions, complete clinical observations, and maintain accurate records.
  • Facilitate patient and staff orientation, communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and carers, and provide handovers.
  • Identify and manage risks, participate in emergency and aggression management, and assist in maintaining a clean ward environment.
