Job summary

We are seeking full time (37.5 hours per week) or part time (minimum of 22.5 hours per week) Receptionists to join our busy Reception and Out of Hours Coordination Centre based at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury.

You'll be the first point of contact for visitors, staff and service users therefore it is essential that you have excellent communication skills, show empathy and have a compassionate manner as some callers may sometimes be in a distressed state.

As part of the role, you will be required to work all of the below shifts and be able to travel to other locations subject to departmental requirements: 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00 / 22:00 - 06:00 / 09:00-17:00.

Please note this role requires extended hours, weekends and bank holidays working patterns. Enhanced hourly rates will be paid.

Main duties of the job

  • Perform general office duties including: responding to email and telephone enquiries, taking and recording messages accurately, responding to queries appropriately
  • Operate the Trust's switchboard, answering incoming calls and transferring callers appropriately using tools provided.
  • Undertake training in new skills required for the Coordination Centres effective operation and to maintain those skills in line with supervision and appraisal.
  • Provide postal services for the trust including signing and recording of mail.
