Matron - CAMHS Eating Disorders Hospital at Home
This job is now closed
Job summary
We are looking for our Modern Matron to join our inpatient service!
Eating Disorders CAMHS Hospital at Home is an alternative to inpatient admission service, developed under the Thames Valley Specialised Children and Young People's Mental Health Services Provider Collaborative. The Provider Collaborative is led by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and consists of several NHS organisations working together to improve mental health care for children and young people.
The collaborative includes three NHS partners and providers: Oxford Health, Berkshire Healthcare, and Gloucestershire Health and Care. Covering the geographical areas of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Swindon, Wiltshire, and Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), they work together to deliver high-quality, specialist mental health services to children and young people across these regions.
The team focuses on young people with eating disorders, aged 11 to 18, who meet the criteria for inpatient care, offering an alternative to hospital admission. In some cases, admission will be prevented; in others, young people will be stepped down to this model after a short inpatient stay.
This is in line with the Provider Collaborative's objectives of providing care close to home, reducing admissions, shortening lengths of stay, decreasing waiting times, and enabling earlier discharge from inpatient care.
Main duties of the job
The Modern Matron will be accountable for providing frontline leadership and professional nursing leadership support to staff across the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder must contribute to a culture of clinical improvement, leading by example and empowering the multi-disciplinary team to improve the care and well-being of service users in their clinical area. It means putting recovery and choice at each stage of the care pathway, offering expertise in the management of complex cases and ensuring the development of the community/inpatient interface.
