Job summary

We, in Horizon, are a Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), working with children and young people experiencing distress as a result of sexual harm. There is no doubt that working in mental health, and particularly with sexual harm, can be challenging, but it can also be a hugely rewarding, and fulfilling experience, where you can make a real difference.

We are looking to recruit a qualified and enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner for 4 days per week - you may be a Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist/CBT Therapist.

We offer an opportunity for hybrid working (working from office base for 2 days a week, including a Thursday as this is currently our team day) and also some flexibility with hours (8am - 6pm) in alignment with service need - we know how important a good work/life balance is.

Our main base is at Maple House, The Slade, Oxford, and we cover the county of Oxfordshire.

We are a small, supportive multidisciplinary team, who work alongside other professionals to support young people and families who have been affected by sexual harm. We work hard to ensure high quality patient centred care is in place and that our staff are supported in their roles and encouraged to develop.

Main duties of the job

We offer different levels of intervention, including advice and consultation with other professionals, assessments and we work directly with young people and/or their families using a range of trauma focused psychological therapies.

We take a 'formulation-based' approach to find a way of helping that is both evidence-based and specific to the needs and goals of the young person.

As a member of our team, you will receive ongoing support and development to enhance the care that you provide. Expertise gained through these experiences will enhance your professional and personal growth. We also regularly provide training and supervision on trauma informed care and practice to other professionals - there's plenty of opportunity to share learning!
