Job summary
We are recruiting for a Deputy Chief Nurse to join our team at Oxford Health NHS FT where you will deputise for most aspects of the Chief Nurse's portfolio.
This is a great opportunity for a senior nurse with strategic Trust-wide leadership experience who is ready to lead a diverse and talented nursing workforce in delivering safe, collaborative and excellent care to patients. You'll be instrumental in driving quality improvement in all areas of the trust and ensuring that an active learning culture is embedded.
You'll be a trusted ambassador for nursing and act as a positive role model to our workforce, co-ordinating access to services and making decisions that improve outcomes and value for patients. You'll also have the opportunity to be a catalyst in transforming our health care system and strive towards excellence and outstanding care in all fields of nursing.
This is a full time role based at our Littlemore Mental Health Centre and is open to senior nurses with previous experience in a senior clinical leadership role.

Main duties of the job
- Accountable for professional nursing knowledge, standards, strategy and practice including care environments within all Directorates and services in the Trust
- Development of a career framework for all nursing staff, underpinned with strong systems for nursing practice and leadership development at all levels within nursing teams
- Ensuring oversight across the Trust of nursing standards
- Leadership and professional development for all nurses including research
- Accountable for the Quality improvement of services and contribution of nurses to the continues development of safe and excellent nursing practice
- Leading Trust wide Quality Improvement programmes such as Positive and Safe
- Chair and lead trust wide Quality assurance activities and committees such as WRM
- Deputise for the Chief nurse with delegated authority at all required levels including Executive board and national forums
