Job summary

We are looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Occupational and Physiotherapy team on Abbey Ward, at Abingdon Community Hospital. This multidisciplinary team supports patients on the Oxfordshire Pathway, providing rehabilitation to maximise recovery and support patients returning to the community. The team consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation assistants as well as specialist speech and language therapists, dieticians, clinical psychologists and nurses, doctors and support staff.

We are a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking team who work effectively together to deliver high standards of rehabilitation. An active program of in service and competency based training is established, with a strong team ethos of learning and development.

Main duties of the job

Working within a multidisciplinary team providing rehabilitation under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered practitioner.You will help the service to provide a high quality, efficient intensive rehabilitation service for adult stroke patients in Oxfordshire.Empowering clients to manage their conditions effectively and maximise their potential to reach their goals of self management, access to their environment and return to previous occupations and involvement in the community.This role will require a flexible approach to working with the ability to be available across 7 days of the week in line with service need.
