Clinical Specialist - Learning Disability - Salisbury
This job is now closed
Job summary
Are you an approachable, calm, reflective practitioner?
Do you have experience of working with children and young people, learning disability, or mental health?
We, at Salisbury Community CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), are looking for a Clinical Specialist to join our team to support our child and young people with complex needs. You might be a Learning Disability Nurse, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker, committed to providing psychoeducational support to those who need it.
We're delighted to offer this role as a developmental opportunity too; we know taking on a Band 7 role can be a little daunting, but we're a really supportive team, committed to your growth, and we're happy to provide support for you to achieve this.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to get involved with a variety of different stakeholders; you'll be working with our CYP, their families, schools, social care and specialist provisions, as well as networking within our team and overseeing our students on placement and support workers.
You'll be able to act as a Care-Co-ordinator, so whilst you might not always be delivering great care directly, you'll be heavily involved in the decision making to help make a difference to the lives of our children, young people and their families.
When you are involved in delivering care, you'll be specialising in providing evidence based therapy, and you'll predominantly be doing this on a face to face basis, either in the home, in schools or in the workplace.
This may sound a lot but you won't be alone; we have a wealth and breadth of knowledge across our Multidisciplinary team, so there will always be someone to offer guidance, someone to learn new skills from, and someone to provide support. Staff wellbeing is a high priority and we offer clinical supervision, management supervision, team reflective practice sessions and we have an induction programme that's second to none.
