Job summary

The Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Respiratory Team deliver 4 aspects to their service - A pulmonary rehabilitation service delivering courses across the county in community venues;

In addition members of the service also provide community and hospital in reach services and a home oxygen assessment service.

Main duties of the job

We have a vacancy for 1 year initially (pending confirmation of additional funding to make the post permanent) with the aim to support the development and delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation services. You should have a minimum of 2 years experience since qualifying and ideally some of this within respiratory but will consider transferable skills.

Team members are supported by experienced senior team members and are expected to support across all aspects of the service with this role having a focus on delivering Pulmonary rehabilitation courses The team have regular clinical support, and regular education sessions and always have access to senior advice. There is a strong working relationship with secondary care colleagues who are also available for advice.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work as an integral part of the team delivering Pulmonary rehabilitation courses within the integrated respiratory service. The overall service aims to manage exacerbations, provide education, support and treatment to patients across Oxfordshire with a variety of respiratory conditions but main focus is COPD and asthma. Our primary aim is to promote client/patient self-management at home and prevent hospital admissions. This is delivered via an in-reach hospital service, community /Home Oxygen assessment and review service and a countywide Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service.

All applicants will have excellent communication skills and be able to work autonomously, seeking support as required.

The current service hours are Monday - Friday 08.30-16.30. Please note that these hours maybe reviewed in the future.

Permanent and fixed-term contracts available.
