We are seeking a highly motivated Deputy Ward Manager who has experience in stroke rehabilitation or who would like to make the change to develop in this specialist area.

The Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Abingdon Community Hospital provides specialist rehabilitation for patients in Oxfordshire who have had an acute stroke. We work as a cohesive multi professional team, supporting patients' recovery which will enable them to return home or move to other care settings.

Main duties of the job

You will support the Ward Manager in all aspects of ward management, providing clinical advice, expertise and strong leadership skills with excellent communication. Our main focus on the ward is to provide rehabilitation care for our patients who have had a stroke. You will be part of a fantastic multi-disciplinary team where there is a strong therapeutic focus on the ward to help aid the rehabilitation recovery of our older patients, who may also have a complexity of health needs.
