Job summary

Are you a doctor interested in an exciting role in Oxfordshire delivering high quality mental health care in the community, with no on call commitment?

We have two 0.6 Specialty Doctor posts available in our Didcot and Wantage adult community mental health teams. You will join well-staffed community teams with two substantive consultants. The two roles are part time but we will be happy to consider applications from candidates interested in a full time role.

Main duties of the job

As a Specialty Doctor in the team, you will join a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality mental health care to adults in the community. Please refer to the JDs for further details.

Qualifications

Essential

  • General medical qualification

Desirable

  • Some or all parts of MRCPsych or equivalent

Training

Essential

  • Shall have completed at least four years' full-time Postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.

Desirable

  • Section 12 (2) approval: Mental Health Act, 1983
  • Attendance at MRCPsych course or equivalent

Clinical Experience

Essential

  • Held appointments in psychiatry at SHO/CT or equivalent

Desirable

  • Experience at ST or SD level or equivalent

Ability

Essential

  • To exercise an intermediate level of clinical responsibility as delegated by the consultant in charge.

Skills and Knowledge
