Job summary
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an administrative assistant to support services at The Whiteleaf Centre to effectively manage the room booking system. This is a newly created post so the successful applicant will have an opportunity to make it their own.
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, is highly organised and able to prioritise and be flexible.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, however we welcome applications for those who may be interested in a job share.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be motivated and enjoy working in a challenging and busy environment. They will have a strong customer service or administrative background and be able to support the day-to-day management of our room booking system at our busy outpatient service at The Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury.
The system is currently managed using Microsoft Office software, so experience using this would be advantageous. The successful candidate will support all services to ensure space is being used efficiently and effectively for our daily clinics, meetings and training. The ideal candidate would feel confident to communicate with staff and external users at all levels, have the ability to work autonomously and be able to problem solve.
The role will also include supporting our outpatient receptionist by providing lunch cover and cover during other periods of leave.

This will include booking-in patients, taking telephone calls and dealing with queries. The successful candidate will also be required to assist with other admin duties to support the effective running of services.
- All new starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process, aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale
- Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
- Appointment to this post is subject to the trust receiving satisfactory references covering 3 years of employment or study. Please ask your referees to respond promptly to reference requests.
- Employees are expected to undertake mandatory and statutory training related to their role.
